It often confuses folks when I say I prefer to sleep in the back of my wee van, in a tent, bothy or in fact a bivy on the open hillside rather than a "nice" hotel. I have never felt lonely whilst exploring the mountains of Scotland on my own but felt a crushing sense of being alone when in Glasgow.
I am happy enough with being the way I am ...but it frustrates the living daylights out of me trying to explain "why".
It makes perfect sense and is beautifully written ...kick back with a cup of tea ...enjoy, dream and if it is for you, try dispersing a bit more.
Hey Graham!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog browsing Al Humphrey's microadventures. And I just wanted to send a quick note to say that I too, on any nigh to the week, would rather sleep in my hammock out on my patio under the the stars with a warm breeze. There's just something about being outside!
Also, checked out the other blog you linked too - awesome piece - thanks for sharing that!
Anyway, see you online!

PS - Your comment was on Al's microadventure post, I just did a 30 mile,12 hour skate trek from Boulder to Denver, CO US. Kicked my ass, but was one of the best days of my life!
Cheers to being outside!!!
- Lauren :)
Evening Lauren
ReplyDeleteOne of the great thing about the whole online blog thing is finding that common ground across a world that the main media source would have us believe is divided.
Thanks for the comment and aye ...see you somewhere !
Cheers
Graham
