Last night it was decided, not only was I not going to race the full Skyline race again (only because I don't want to dilute the memory of last year) but I had decided only to spectate the VK and Ring of Steall events. I was looking forward to sitting high on the hill cheering on folks on the Friday and running the Steall route in reverse to see the pointy end of the event and grab some photographs of the midpack where many of the hardest individual battles are held but ...
Around 09:30 today I realised that whilst a non participant involvement would certainly be fun, I have that nagging fear of missing out. By the time entries opened 30 minutes later, I had two brower windows open and with a few clicks had confirmed entries for both the Mamores VK and Ring of Steall ...och weel.
Plan is to race the Friday and Saturday as hard as I can then do the spectating thing at the Coe race on the Sunday as "active recovery" #featsdinnaefailmenoo .....
A good while to go with both the events not being until September and it gives a good excuse for some targeted training trips !
