Run the Blades Ultra-marathon ...

My cousin and me pretty much grew up as brothers. Down through the years we've had more adventures than drams of whisky...and we've had a lot of whisky.
Alan lives over stateside nowadays and we don't get to do as much as we used to, so it was great to toe the start line of the Run the Blades Ultra together yesterday. Nice touch is that this is my local Ultra and a fair bit of my training is up around Whitelee.
Race went well with "mixed" weather conditions and a wee twist in the tail with the course being slightly longer than 50km due to a turbine fire causing a course diversion. Nice surprise was meeting the fair Katie close to the finish who was out on her own training run.
Huge shout of thanks to the Breaking Strain events team for organising and all the race marshals who were out on the course before the runners and last back.

The before bit ....
The after bit ...still smiling !
